Let’s just get to the point. Today is 14th of November 2009. It is quite an important day for all the A.R. Rahman fans in Kolkata. A.R. Rahman decides to visit his worshippers, ahem… fans in the Salt lake stadium, and people flock into and outside the stadium like as if Ma Durga has descended down to earth just realizing that the 5 days of Durga Puja was not enough!

Call me a sarcastic, but this whole experience of sitting in an overcrowded mini-bus unable to even move an inch for 2 whole hours was not an experience I’d like to experience again! While sitting there I must have thought millions of things. Some like -
Does Kolkata really have this kind of population, or did people from all over the country have come to visit this musical maestro?
What are these guys even going inside for … haven’t they heard any of the Rahman songs? Haven’t they seen performances on TV?
Infact, at least the player will be visible on TV. The back standers will be just listening to really bad loudspeaker echo that would sound more like noise rather than world famous melodies!
So many women with children, crying on their shoulders, holding their little tiny hands holding balloons. Bet they have not an inkling of what’s going on. They might have heard Pappu Can’t Dance Sala! They might have even sung “Jai Ho…” in their school independence day programs. Guess, that’s how their parents persuaded them to come to this madness called a “live show”. But, honestly, is it a nice way to be spending Children’s Day?

Ok, agreed, this live show will rake in big pockets for the singing group and the band. Also a lot of liver patients will be helped, since this is supposed to be a charity show. But …

Well, I know many will think I’m being short sighted and too selfish. But if you would have seen the 70 something old guy sitting beside me hoping to reach home to have dinner or the lady standing among the crowded public trying even stand straight. I felt really lucky and at the same time helpless (thanks to my hero complex :rolleyes:)!
Wonder what Superman would have done! Maybe take all the traffic-attacked buses and cars and flown a little to their destinations!
Sigh!!

Anyways, back to reality … seriously I’m flustered by this kind of madness for a live show. I wish there’s some way of controlling traffic, because apparantly the Kolkata police do not have the capability to control traffic nor are they ready for such huge live show airing.

These kinda shows happen all over the world, but does life and people come to standstill just because a handful of artists decide to show their prowess to the public on the stage?

Yey! I made a new header for my blog. The whole concept was to make it more personal. All work done in Adobe Photoshop. Pictures obtained from my own blog. There’s my Gypsy Dream poem background, Clark and Chloe (my most favorite platonic pair from Smallville), the Hercules beetle’s friend who had stood beside the gigantic Hercules Beetle in the post on the beetle (decided it should get some importance too), Betty (the character who inspires me as much as Lois and Clark inspire me) and of course last but not the least Kungfu Panda (the cutest Panda on earth!).

My last post pretty much described my excitement. Here comes the next dose after watching the whole episode. I just finished watching the whole of the Season 4 premiere of Ugly Betty, a one and a half hours double episode. It was quite a consolation of keeping Betty away from her fans for more than 3 whole months!

The episode was called the Butterfly Effect and it reminded me of Betty’s Halloween butterfly costume in her initial days in Mode. This episode though was about Malaria and Matt and Marc and Daniel Meade’s maniacal hitting madness and Meeeegan. Too many “M’s” I see. Yes, this episode was quite something. In short a befitting starting to a new season.

It can be clearly seen that Silvio Horta doesn’t want to give up on the standard starting the episode with a lot of hope, making the middle full with fights and stress and tension and sorrow and giving it a nice sweet happy ending. Not that I hate it … it’s great … but Silvio … I hope you don’t forget this is not a fantasy tale, this portrays life in many ways.

I honestly believe that half my problems’ solutions are right here. Thanks to the show and the show makers that I’m able to wake up every morning. Get ready and go to office and tell myself “I’m an attractive, intelligent, confident career woman” just like Betty tells herself everday

I have a real reason to write today.
The reason is simple though.
Ugly Betty is Back! I’m so very excited. It’s office time , so I couldn’t watch the whole episode, nor can I write a lot. But all I want to write is my first reaction to watching 10 mins of Ugly Betty Season 4 premiere.

Betty dreams of having her braces removed. That’s an up, I mean all this while it seemed like Betty La Fea was kept away from this American version and new areas are being explored. Although this is true, but we should not forget that the story is about Betty’s transformation into a swan.

Betty’s bangs have grown. (See screenshot up) That’s cute. She seems to have some highlights too. Looks good on her.

Justin is going to high school. He looks all grown up and so …. nice. Seriously, I love his character. He is infact one of the reasons why Im not averse to homosexualism and gay people like many people I know.

Hilda and Ignacio are the same. I so love them for providing stability to the show. Hilda looked really amazing in those pink shorts!

Fashion TV reporter. I don’t remember his name now, but I think his real name is Alex. His hair looked different … and so like he should be like! Awesome!!

Willy Slater is hiding something/one in her house. What is it? I am dying of curiosity here. It was because of this that I watched the 10 minutes. But … what are you hiding Willy?

Marc is asking the same question as I am. I hope we get the answer soon. Btw, where is his best friend Amanda? Didn’t see her!

Nor did I see Daniel. What is he doing in Tibet btw? When is he coming back?

And Matt. Oh I think I’m gonna like him in his sarcastic and mean and rude self. Obviously it’s different from what we’ve seen him the past year and I am supposed to hate him, but I’m not sure. He has changed his looks too. He looks fresh and more like a wounded lover. I’m so gonna love him or love to hate him this year.

And I’m sooo looking forward to many more hours of Ugly Betty this year. May it go on and on and on!!

I used to be sad those days due to some office situation, but I’m fine now … totally.

The part that caught my eye was …

The truth is that Christianity is a middle-eastern religion, born in the same general vicinity as Islam. Jesus was a Middle Eastern Jew and probably had dark skin, curly hair, brown eyes and Semitic features. The parallels with Islam do not end there. All three Middle Eastern religions (Judaism, Christianity and Islam) subscribe to the Old Testament and the Koran includes many references to Jesus. Further, the ‘Allah’ whom credulous Americans have come to regard with such dread is a Biblical figure; Allah is simply the Aramaic word for God. The Bible is written in Aramaic so whenever God is referred to, it is as ‘Allah’. And when Jesus talked about his divine father, he probably referred to ‘Allah’.

Say this to most Western Christians and you’ll freak them out….

So, does this mean that whoever wrote the New Testament had some kind of problem with the Jews from the beginning?

This really makes me believe that even God’s words were written with ego and hatred in the back of the mind. How or what is then left to believe? The Bible is considered to be a pure religious text which spreads God’s words after Jesus. What does this spread now?

I am a true believer in the purity of faith and people who write such religious texts (although, yes, I’m a non believer in religion as all it does in today’s world is give you a mark and discriminate you from the other religious believers). But now, religious texts cannot be believed entirely too!
